It’s an emergency to have an avulsed tooth. So you will have to see the dentist immediately. You may think that you normally get an appointment couple of weeks before a dental checkup. Well, dentists do have a plan for dealing with the dental emergencies on immediate basis. You can use those options to see the dentist.

Pick up the tooth carefully

You will need to take your tooth to the dentist but first you will have to pick your tooth carefully. The ideal way to do it is to pick it up by holding the crown. Make sure you are not laying hard hands on the tooth root.

Rinse your tooth gently

You will need to clean the dirt and debris from the tooth because there are the nerves which remain attached to the tooth root after it gets knocked out. And these nerves need to be re-attached with the inner slot of the lost tooth. So make sure that you are cleaning the dirt with extreme care. Rinsing the best option but you will have to be careful and gentle.

Try to put it back in the slot

Make sure you are holding your tooth with the crown only. Now try to put it back in the slot but make sure that you are not forcing it. When you apply gentle pressure on it, it wouldn’t fall down.

Make sure that tooth is moist

In case you are unable to put it back in the slot for any reason, it’s crucial that you keep it moist. The best thing you can do is to put it in the milk because that will help the tooth root to retain the nerves attached with it.
